Dr. J. Yu is a highly skilled, board-certified interventional pain management specialist and anesthesiologist committed to helping patients regain control over their lives through safe, effective, and evidence-based treatments. With extensive training at some of the most prestigious medical institutions in the country, Dr. Yu brings an unmatched level of expertise and innovation to Empire Minimally Invasive Spine and Pain.
Dr. Yu completed his fellowship in Interventional Pain Medicine at the renowned Weill Cornell Tri-Institutional Pain Fellowship, with training across NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and the Hospital for Special Surgery. Prior to this, he completed his residency in Anesthesiology at University of Illinois Health & Sciences Center in Chicago, after earning his Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine at Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine in New York.
With a foundation in both clinical and laboratory research, Dr. Yu has investigated complex topics ranging from opioid management in cancer pain to the neurological pathways involved in Alzheimer’s disease. He has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications and presented at national conferences on advanced interventional techniques, making him a trusted contributor to the medical community as well as a compassionate caregiver.
