Dr. Salvatore Corso M.D.

Dr. Salvatore Corso is currently a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with private practice in Westbury and Commack. Dr. Corso graduated from SUNY Downstate Medical School in the top 10% of his class in 1987. He obtained a license to practice medicine in the state of New York in 1989 and that license has been in good standing to this day. He also obtained a license in Florida in 2012 which is also in good standing. After graduating from medical school, he obtained a residency at Albert Einstein Medical School/Long Island Jewish Hospital for five years and graduated as a chief resident in 1992.
He subsequently graduated from a one-year fellowship in a highly regarded sports medicine fellowship at the Orthopedic Research of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia. During that time, he wrote and presented multiple papers at the Arthroscopy Association of North America, as well as the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.
In 1993 he joined a busy orthopedic practice in Woodbury, Long Island called Orthopedic and Sports Associates of Long Island where he ultimately became the leading partner in that practice for over 25 years and became the co-chief of Orthopedics at North Shore University Hospital in Plainview.
In 2019 Dr. Corso joined the New York Spine Institute to become the primary Sports Medicine physician and he also became co-chief of Orthopedics at Mercy Medical Center as part of the Catholic Health System. He is currently a staff member at Saint Joseph’s Hospital as well as the Ambulatory Surgical Center in Far Rockaway. To this day, Dr. Corso also performs Independent Medical Examinations.
For over 35 years, Dr. Corso has had an extremely busy and successful private orthopedic practice which continues to help numerous patients with commercial, No-Fault, and Workmen’s Compensation insurance.
