Dr. Monika Misak is a dual board-certified physician in Emergency Medicine and Interventional Pain Medicine with advanced fellowship training in interventional and regenerative pain management. She brings a comprehensive, evidence-based, and patient-centered approach to orthopedic and spine care, integrating precision-guided interventional procedures with cutting-edge regenerative therapies.
Dr. Misak earned her medical degree from Albany Medical College and completed her Emergency Medicine residency at The George Washington University, where she later served as Clinical Instructor and faculty. She went on to complete an ACGME-accredited Chronic Pain Fellowship at the University of Maryland, Baltimore, where she developed extensive expertise in interventional spine techniques and advanced pain therapies.
Her clinical focus includes the diagnosis and treatment of spine, joint, and musculoskeletal pain using minimally invasive, image-guided procedures. Her goal is to restore function, reduce inflammation, and promote biologic healing while minimizing reliance on long-term medications.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Misak serves as Assistant Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She has authored peer-reviewed publications and presented nationally and internationally on clinical research, patient safety, and health equity. Her leadership experience includes developing innovative educational and community-based healthcare initiatives.
